Uncertain future
Article Abstract:
Nurses from the major London hospitals faced with reorganisation or closure have varied reactions to Sir Bernard Tomlinson's recommendations. Most consider change necessary and welcome the development of community services. However, lack of information has provoked uncertainty. Most nurses recognise the need for extra training. Some fear possible job losses. Others consider the special atmosphere of individual hospitals will be lost. However, some perceive opportunities for better services if reorganisation is managed effectively.
