Update: Pulmonary Hemorrhage/Hemosiderosis Among Infants--Cleveland, Ohio, 1993-1996
Article Abstract:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified serious shortcomings in its investigation of an outbreak of pulmonary hemorrhage in 10 babies in Cleveland, Ohio. The bleeding in the lungs was originally linked to exposure to a fungus called Stachybotrys chartarum, which is also called Stachybotrys atra. However, due to the shortcomings in the investigation, the agency now says this association has not been proven.

Outbreak of Legionnaires' Disease Among Automotive Plant Workers--Ohio, 2001
Article Abstract:
The bacterium that causes Legionnaires' disease can be found in industrial settings, as documented by the cases of four workers at an automotive engine manufacturing plant who developed the disease. The exposure seemed to occur at one of the plant finishing lines and appeared to be short-lived since no other workers developed the disease.
