Asthma care in general practice
Article Abstract:
The introduction of primary care groups in the UK will require a consolidation of asthma care within practices, with special focus on the role of asthma care nurses. Evidence-based treatments must be backed up by self-management programmes for patients, while nurses should encourage patients to take a proactive approach to their treatment, reducing the need for surgery visits. Asthma nursing is a skill required by all practice nurses and should be valued part of primary care group medical provision.

The way we were
Article Abstract:
Elderly patients can be helped to retain memories by creating records of their past life. Records can be made in the form of tape or video recordings, photograph albums or diaries. Patients should be assisted to collate objects, thoughts or pictures into an individual record which can be used to improve memory and develop identity, especially in people suffering from diseases such as Alzheimer's.
