Why we don't have better birth control: politics and profits impede contraceptive research
Article Abstract:
Women do not have many more contraceptive choices than they had in the 1960s because of the political activities of anti-abortion activists, government cutbacks in research and drug manufacturers' fears of product liability lawsuits. More research should be encouraged.

When massage is medicine

A federal moratorium does not allow the use of fetal tissues obtained from abortions in research projects because women might more easily choose to have an abortion. Fetal tissue transplantation provides excellent treatment for several diseases.
