Natalie Doyle, a cancer rehabilitation nurse specialist, explains her experience with different cancer patients and feels that the aim must be to make a fully functioning person first and a cancer patient second. The nurses present at the center work as a part of a multiprofessional team, including therapists, dietitians and physiotherapists and educate patients about this disease.

The basic overview of the condition of disseminated intravascular coagulation, and its pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment and nursing management is provided. Disseminated intravascular coagulation is associated with high mortality rate, with patient outcomes largely dependent upon swift recognition and appropriate management of events.
