Relationship between generic strategies, competitive advantage and organizational performance: an empirical analysis
Article Abstract:
Australian manufacturing companies that participated in the first and second rounds of the Australian Best Practice Program were surveyed to examine the relationships among generic strategies, competitive advantage and organizational performance. Results showed that the configuration of variables by companies adopting different generic strategies varies significantly. Significant performance differences were also observed across generic types. Under certain circumstances, companies that utilize different strategies were more successful than those using a single strategic thrust.

Technology, manufacturing performance and business performance amongst Australian manufacturers
Article Abstract:
An analysis of business performance and technology reveals that the use of advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) is not a guarantee of business success. In 1994, Australian manufacturers were surveyed to obtain data on business performance and manufacturing practices and measure correlations between AMT and business and manufacturing performance. Some explanations for the strong association between AMT and performance are offered through the study of human, organizational and social elements as well as how they affect technology and performance.
