Harry Reid

Harry Reid, assistant Democratic leader, or party whip, in the U.S. senate, was born in the small mining town of Searchlight, Nevada on December 2, 1939. In 1970, he was elected to a four-year term as Nevada's lieutenant governor and in 1977 he was appointed chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission and was honored with Industry Leadership Award in 2001 by the American Gaming Association.

Lee Ann Newsom, Paleoethnobotanist

Lee Ann Newsom is a paleoethnobotanist and an associate professor of archaeological anthropology at Pennsylvania State University. She is a specialist in subfield known as 'environmental archaeology' which means research based on analysis of ancient plant remains recovered from archaeological and paleontological deposits.
