The life and work of Maria Spiropulu, a particle physicist researching the possibility of the existence of dimensions outside both three dimensional space and time, are discussed. Spiropulu belongs to the generation of those physicists, who challenge the traditional ways of understanding the material world, feels that physics is not just her job, but it is her life.
