Kathleen Blanco was born on December 15, 1942 and is currently the Governor of Louisiana (Democrat), U.S. Blanco, who has broken much ground for women in her more than 20 years of public service in Louisiana. She is known for her nonabrasive and open governing style, and her rise is greeted enthusiastically in Louisiana, where politics has often been marked by flamboyance and marred by corruption.

Jennifer M. Granholm, governor of Michigan
