Lisa Randall, a theoretical physicist, got fame when she developed a theory to explain why gravity is by far the weakest of the four fundamental forces of nature. Randall graduated from Harvard University, Massachusetts and then joined the faculty at MIT, Cambridge as assistant professor of physics, since she always had liking for research and investigation and continued towards her goal of finding answers to physics problems.

For her work in revealing the effects of industrial chemicals on the ozone, Solomon was awarded the National Medal of Science, the highest honor presented to a scientist by the United States government.
