Afghanistan has fought off domination by other countries since 1747 to retain its sovereignty. The first stamps commemorating the independence of Afghanistan were introduced in 1924, portraying the royal crest of the Amir of Kabul.

The Finnish war of independence

Article Abstract:

Finland's first stamps debuted in 1917, after the country declared its independence from Russia. The Vaasa emergency stamps are appealing because of their flaws, which were due to the lithographic printing process that was used.
