Photographic images can be made with unusual results by using only film and a container with a pinhole-size opening to allow film to be exposed to light. It is the ability of the hole to refract light that enables an image. however soft, blurred or diffused, to be created.

Slide film rated at 100 or 200 ISO is best for evaluating test images for exposure latitude. The film can be projected on a screen for a better look at fine detail. The same subject matter should be taken with various exposures, flash settings and lenses for evaluation.
