Lois Durbin found a depth of creativity and love of beauty that spanned all Native American tribes whne she was researching her book 'North American Indian Jewelry and Adornment.' Her research spans the history of Native American jewelry making, beginning with crossing of the Bering ice bridge 10,000 years ago.

Shenzi: the politics of mining tanzanite
Article Abstract:
The mining industry of Tanzania is marred by politicking which has resulted in the corruption of the industry. The mining of tanzanite, because of its relatively extensive price, is not excluded from this phenomenon as miners disregard rules on sustainable mining.
