The circle is a predominant jewelry motif even in ancient times. The Greeks, Romans and Phoenicians have circular pendants, medallions and hoop earrings adorned in gold. Throughout history the sphere is regarded as a natural concept that people can relate with and its use in jewelry is an undying trend.

Garnets were considered amulets in Mesopotamia in 3000 B.C. Since then, they have become popular gemstones for royalty in Europe and in the Orient. Europeans valued it as much as rubies. Today, garnets are in great demand for fine jewelry pieces. The Kenyan and Tanzanian tsavorite are highly valued.
