Knute Rockne pioneered the game of football

American football is purported to have been born on Nov 6, 1869 at a game between Rutgers Univ and Princeton Univ. Knute Rockne a coach at these early games went on to himself to become a 1912 Olympic medalist. Postage stamps issued to honor American football and Knute Rockne are described.
