Menachem Begin: from ex-terrorist to Peace Prize winner

Israel issued a stamp of its controversial prime minister Menachem Begin in Feb 1993. Begin had a long history of political activism for the Jewish cause, including participation in the Irgun Zvai Leumi. He served as prime minister from 1977 to 1983.
