Jewelry artists can learn to use intaglio carving to produce charming works with a little practice. Tips are presented on cutting the design with homemade tube and polishing it with a rotary brush. Techniques for creating a cat design and an owl design are demonstrated.

Bench jewelers are advised to use paste fluxes for eliminating oxides, flushing impurities and running beads. They are also urged to work in well-ventilated areas when working with paste fluxes since they contain fluorides that are highly toxic.
