Doug MacCarthy has built a garden which he can enjoy with his senses despite his blindness. The garden has a series of definite areas and fountains which soothe the senses and guide McCarthy as he walks through his garden, allowing him to hear, feel and smell and touch a variety of things.

Article Abstract:
Ground covers are good substitutes for grass when appropriate. Ground covers that are shade tolerant will grow well under trees. Some examples of these ground covers are ajuga, common periwinkle, English ivy, Japanese ardisia and lenten rose.

Propagating seeds indoors requires sowing 2 or 3 seeds in a growing tray's cells, providing them with plenty of light, applying water-soluble fertilizers, and keeping them moist but not over-watered. Equipment for propagation is discussed.
