Article Abstract:
A unique way of designing and putting up a fence in front of the house for only $100 is described. A split-rail fence, which costs approximately $30 per 10 feet, is a better choice than a picket fence because aside from serving as a nice background for flowers, it also serves as a strong support for vines.

Tropical punch

Tropical plants can improve an outdoor garden's appearance. Several attractive tropical plants are described including banana trees, rainbow plants, rubber plants, giant alocasia, spider plants, Good Hope cape primrose, Australian tree fern and peace lily.

Five public gardens situated in the Southern States of the United States, which have much to offer the visitor, are described. The gardens include the Lady Bird Wildflower Center in Austin, TX, where native plants grow against limestone architecture.
