The principal motif used in Art Deco jewelry was geometric, simple shapes interlinked to form complex configurations and bright colors were achieved using stones such as jade, turquoise and lapis lazuli or precious gems such as emeralds and sapphires. There was a global influence in the abstract patterns derived from the architecture of ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations.

Tea canisters: Totally terrific
Article Abstract:
The background and the development of the original tea canister are described which mostly appeals to collectors of silver, porcelain, Folk Art, or tea paraphernalia. The first tea canisters were introduced in the shape of a lady's silver perfume flask, which are extremely rare.

Collecting pie birds
Article Abstract:
Broad shouldered, ceramic and hollow pie birds were placed inside the pie that protruded through the crust to vent out the steam in order to prevent the pie from becoming soggy. These have become collectorEs items over the last 150 years because of their unique design.
