Collector's corner: The dog in art
Article Abstract:
Sporting dogs like retrievers, setters and hounds by well-known artists like John Emms, Sir Edwin Henry Landseer and Arthur Wardle are highly sought-after at auction. Collectors in case of paintings and sculpture look for detailed anatomies and coat textures, facial expressions, breed portraits that highlight characteristics and sporting paintings showing a dog's working ability.
