Cottage garden surprise
Article Abstract:
Art Tucker, a teacher of horticulture at Delaware State University in Dover, Delaware, is an expert on herbs. In addition to the many flowers and shrubs around his house, Art grows many herbs which are not only beautiful flowering plants but have beneficial uses as well. Some of the herbs he grows are the Paraguayan sweet herb (Stevia rebudiana) for its sweet calorie-free leaves, and the greater caelandine (Chelidonuim majus) for the stem juice which cures warts.

Henry and Alma Whitney created a cozy garden in the backyard of their townhome in Montgomery Village, Maryland. They added a flagstone terrace, plating beds, a small waterfall and lattice panels to create a unique garden that distinguishes their yard from the yards of the surrounding townhomes.
