Don't hide the house
Article Abstract:
Landscape architect John Adams of Land Design Group Inc. created a front yard landscape that helps to show off the spacious front porch on a home in Ocala, Florida. He chose low plantings that mark the edge of the porch, but don't hide it from view. Evergreen ground cover, perennials and shrubs were used to frame the porch, and Morea iris, lily-of-the-Nile, daylilies and low-growing azaleas were used to provide color. The final design provides a welcoming environment and helps to guide visitors to the front door.
