For girls only
Article Abstract:
The doll, together with its many needs ranging from clothing to doll-size furniture were the most valued playthings for girls in the 19th century. However in the closing years of the 19th century many girls began to escape toy and activity limitations which is believed to have resulted from a wider and less costly choice of toys produced by post-Civil War improvements in mass production signaling the new lifestyle promised by the 20th century.
