Give beach plants a chance
Article Abstract:
Only tough plants can endure seaside conditions because of the nearly constant salt wind that robs plants of their moisture. Sandy soil also poses a problem, but it can be aided with organic matter before planting. Century plant, yucca, prickly-pear cactus, oleander, and juniper are some plants that fare well in seaside conditions.

Don't block the windows
Article Abstract:
When planting in the area in front of a window, be sure to take into account the size the plant will grow to before selecting it to plant. Flowering plants which grow no higher than 36 inches tall, ground cover and shrubs are all ideal plants to either plant seperate or mix and match under windows.
