Article Abstract:
A collection of materials and products for walls, floors and countertops, which are eco-friendly and yet have a big design impact are reviewed. It is suggested that one may use panels made with boards made out of compressed sorghum stalks or toasted bamboo, tiles made out of industrial porcelain waste and recycled rubber tires to cover mudroom floor.

Every drop of water needed for the summer season, comes straight from the sky, captured in rain barrels installed behind a Maryland home. In addition to conserving scarce water, rainwater collection helps reduce storm runoff, washing and even in landscaping which helps plants since rainwater is free from chemicals like chlorine and fluoride.
