Tips are given on garden care during the long hot days of summer. July and August are the time for harvesting many vegetables and fruits, and for drying flowers to be used in fall and winter arrangements. Gardeners in Alaska who do not have greenhouses can now begin to plan their gardens.

Snap beans
Article Abstract:
The many varieties of pole and bush beans are discussed and tips are provided on the successful growing of beans. If beans get hard in their pods, they can be used dried for baked bean or bean soup dishes. They can also be used as starter seeds in the next year's vegetable garden.
