Article Abstract:
A systematic planning to build a wooden swing that relies almost on mortise-and-tenon joinery, one of the oldest and strongest methods for joining wood is presented. The procedure includes applying glue to the end of a tenon, sliding the tenon into the mortise, driving the screws into the screw holes and through the tenon, setting seat, arm rest and side pieces.

The way to replace and refinish a section of wood flooring without the change being visible is demonstrated. For the repair to be truly invisible, it is necessary to have wood of the same dimension and species as the existing floor and finish that matches in color and sheen.
