Article Abstract:
The Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge on the Gulf Coast shelters a variety of plants and animals that are all part of a complex web of life, which are pushed out of the miles of developed beaches that encroach from all sides. Supporters of Bon Secour, a French name loosely translated as 'Safe Harbor', face several challenges in preserving the refuge as a home for wildlife and an educational forum for the public.

Step-wise instructions on how to create personalized seed packets and pass along the plants to the people close to one's heart is presented. Sunflowers and tithonias are perfect for this project and their seadheads are suggested to be dried and separated from the chaff for accomplishing the purpose.
