Suggestions are made for gardening activities during this pre-spring season. They include checking out where bulbs are needed and ordering them for next spring. Tips are given on starting or restoring window boxes, and planting young trees. Bird houses should be cleaned, especially the ones for bluebirds.

Columbine: an everlasting favorite
Article Abstract:
There are more than 70 varieties of columbine ranging in size from four inches to three feet. They are relatively easy to grow, and do best in direct sun or partial shade. One plant will last about three to four years, but self-seeding often makes replanting unnecessary.
