Article Abstract:
New vegetable varieties are developed by breeders, gardeners and farmers and are then tested by seed companies. New 1995 varieties of cold weather crops, such as onions, carrots, beets, and lettuce are described. New warm weather varieties, including tomatoes, corn, melons and peppers are also presented.

Article Abstract:
Vegetable-seed companies are offering assortments of vegetable varieties based on size, color, international origin, and seasonal growth. One of the new ones is a round carrot called 'Thumbelina.' Other vegetables are described with days-to-maturity data.

Vegetables for 1993: new introductions
Article Abstract:
There are a variety of new vegetable hybrids for 1993. Variations in colors are available for peppers, popcorn, tomatoes and others. Incorporating the new varieties requires planning to insure they are compatible with a garden's climate.
