Julia Parker, a Native American basket maker talks about his works at a lecture to craftspeople, students, collectors and educators at California College of Arts and Crafts and showed by an example that Native American Basketry is a viable contemporary practice that cuts across cultures. Parker insists on emphasizing the functionality of baskets and their role in traditional Native culture.
