A problematic transition to a strategic role: human resource management in industrial enterprises in China
Article Abstract:
The effects of economic reforms in China on the human resource management practices in the country are discussed. China is undergoing a transitional phase and the reforms have become essential to become integral part of the global economy. Using regression analysis, the changing role of human resource management in the decision-making by industries is determined. A comparative analysis on adoption of western human resource functions over the traditional methods by the industries in China is also presented.

Reassessment of convergence and divergence dynamics: implications for international HRM
Article Abstract:
The extant literature on convergence and divergence in companies and management practices globally has limitations. New research in this area has sought to address this problem by developing a new way of conceptualizing the dynamics of convergence and divergence in international management. This approach emphasizes the transient or emergent reality of 'becoming,' in contrast with the unchanging state of 'being.' It therefore explicitly severs links with the concept of fixed paradigms.
