'Are we really doing what we can to protect these women?' (rape prevention)
Article Abstract:
In the U.S. a woman is raped every six minutes. Statistics such as this prompted Du Pont Company to develop its Personal Safety-Rape Prevention Program for employees of the company. The Du Pont program consists of: an eight-hour rape prevention workshop, a four-hour rape prevention training course for managers and supervisors, a program to train volunteer rape prevention instructors, and a one-hour personal safety meeting. Du Pont spent two and one-half years developing this $500,000 program. Thus far, 1,800 women have completed Du Pont's rape prevention program.
