In the blink of an eye
Article Abstract:
People who make extensive use of computers can be in danger of developing a range of eye problems. They can become more sensitive to light, for example, can suffer blurred or double vision and become subject to postural difficulties, as eyestrain creates physical tensions. People who use computers are particularly prone to dry eyes, as they often fail to blink regularly. The responsibilities of employers with regard to preventing and managing eye problems are set down in the Health and Safety Display Screen Equipment Regulations, which came into effect on Jan 1, 1993.

First there, competent care
Article Abstract:
First aid is a vital part of an organisation's health and safety at work strategy, but the U.K. government's drive to deregulate the activities of the Health and Safety Commission could mean that first aid laws are relaxed. Presently, access to first aid at work is covered by the Approved Code of Practice Guidance on Health and Safety Regulations 1981, which lay down minimum standards for employers. Many business and employers' organisations fear that the new proposals will lead to a dilution of standards.
