Issues relating to social responsibility and enterprise restructuring are covered. The situation in six European countries - Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom is examined at length. The employer-employee relations and the role of the unions in negotiating with the companies are also discussed.

New pension initiatives

The activities of ABW regional trade union, whereby companies are encouraged to withdraw from sectoral agreements and conclude an agreement with ABW union as well as arranging pension with the AXA insurance company have been described. The reactions of other unions like FNV and CNV to this move has been described.
