Multinational corporation management strategies and international human resources practices: bringing IHRM to the bottom line
Article Abstract:
Four global strategies can be examined in the attitude of mutlinational companies to human resources. These are geocentric, ethnocentric, polycentric and regiocentric. The least successful strategy appears to be the ethnocentric strategy and local responsiveness appears to be necessary for multinational companies. There was little difference between the performances of the other three groups and this indicates the policy options which companies should choose.
