The technology of benefits outsourcing: helping employees help themselves

New interactive technology is increasingly allowing employees to handle the management of their own benefits, ushering an era of 'self-service' in employee benefits. This trend toward self-management of benefits has carved a role for human resources (HR) departments as strategic business partners. With benefit management in the hands of employees and with administrative functions outsourced, HR departments can concentrate on strategic planning to survive the challenges of the future.
