Wellness programs: complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Article Abstract:
Employers have implemented employee wellness programs to enable them to cope with escalating health care costs. However, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has placed wellness programs under question due to perceived discriminatory policies which do not provide disabled employees equal access to coverages. Employers should ensure reasonable accommodations that will enable disabled employees to do their duties, confidentiality of medical information and proper collection of medical records of employees and applicants. This will enable them to comply with ADA requirements and plan better wellness programs.

Eldercaring employees: an agenda for employers
Article Abstract:
Employers need to recognize how caring for elderly family members can affect the performance of their employees. This can cause additional strain since individuals have to cope with more responsibilities. Employers can address these concerns by developing a benefits package that would help alleviate the negative effects that can result from caregiving activities. They can assist by providing information, support and better access to long-term care services to their employees. With proper implementation, empowering caregivers will benefit employees, employers and the society.
