Kennedy, China, and the tragedy of no chance
Article Abstract:
This article examines research conducted on Sino-American relations throughout the 1950s and 1960s. The author addresses issues such as how the policies were shaped and whether or not the United States and China passed up key opportunities to make peace, arguing Kennedy was partly responsible for the perpetuation of the poor relations.

This article discusses the turbulent relationship between the United States and China and examines why no breakthroughs were made during the 1950s and 1960s. The author focuses on the policies of the Kennedy and Johnson administrations and asserts Mao Zedong's confrontational actions only created more tensions.
