The acquisition of the American Stock Exchange by the NASD
Article Abstract:
The National Assn of Securities Dealers (NASD) acquired the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) in 1998. NASD gained an auction market by acquiring AMEX and AMEX gained a guaranty for $110 million for technological improvements. Legal and tax objectives, structure and member response is included.
