A report on the development of the proposed Unidroit Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment as applied to aircraft equipment
Article Abstract:
The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (Unidroit) issued a proposed Unidroit Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment, made applicable to aircraft equipment by the Aircraft Equipment Protocol. This Convention seeks to promote efficient credit extension such as asset-based financing and leasing to meet the rising demand for new aircraft equipment in the next 20 years. The Convention/Protocol will set up an international legal framework governing the use of these credit extensions.
