The article describes an interview with Laurene Janik, the senior vice pres and general counsel of the National Ass'n of Realtors. Janik has six lawyers in her department, handling matters including contracts, environmental issues, land use, antitrust, trade marks and federal election law. The interview covers various issues touching real estate brokers including multiple listing services, broker use of the Internet, and lobbying for legislation which would make real estate a better investment.
