Article Abstract:
The Court of First Instance rejected as unfounded many actions in which European traders sought to hold the Community liable for damages allegedly caused by the US' retaliatory measures, which were imposed in accordance with the law of the World Trade Organization because of an identified breach of WTO law being continued by the Community on 14th December 2005. The applicants in the six cases have based their claim for compensation, first on the CommunityEs breaches of WTO law, secondly, on the Community having caused a disproportionate financial burden or loss suffered by the retaliation victims.
