"Deluxe" link for Timeslips
Article Abstract:
Timeslips Corp's $79.95 Timeslips Accounting Link Deluxe (TAL Deluxe) billing/invoicing software is significantly more stable than its predecessors and offers a variety of new features. TAL Deluxe works with data stored in previous versions of Timeslips, and it can use data from more than 30 accounting/general ledger programs. TAL can move its information into the accounting programs, or it can move data from the accounting programs into Timeslips. This feature allows TAL Deluxe to automatically charge the appropriate client or client fund when an action in the accounting program affects that client. TAL Deluxe also works independent of an accounting program and provides reports that detail bills sent and payments received and due. Reports can also outline payment performance, taxes paid on invoices, write-ups, write-downs and aging. Invoices and checks can be grouped into logical sets.

Gryphon: Windows case management for litigators
Article Abstract:
The Poseidon Group's $895 Gryphon Litigation Case & Practice Management software offers an easy-to-use interface that makes organization simple. Gryphon uses the metaphor of a slip of paper, allowing users to enter information on separate 'slips' and keeping all related slips together in a folder. Users may create slips for every document, contact, deadline, telephone call, billing entry or appointment. The Integrated Decision Assistance function retrieves the data, and the fact that the data is linked allows users to jump from one slip to another. The Activities Index lists all of Gryphon's features and gives users access to any function or data element. Gryphon allows users to sort documents depending on the different stages of litigation and to monitor the various relationships in the case. Installation generates multiple error messages, and the program is slow.
