Duties of good faith: where lies the pendulum between insurer and policyholder?
Article Abstract:
Insurers owe a duty of good faith to insureds. The requirements for this duty to be fufilled have been the subject of many cases in the US and Australia. Correct and efficient claims handling can go a long way in helping insurance companies avoid judgments of bad faith.

Avoiding class action exposure through due diligence in vendor selection: insurance carrier utilization of third party vendors
Article Abstract:
In order to avoid class action lawsuits, property and casualty insurance companies must excerise due diligence with respect to vendors in order to fufill their duty of good faith. Some considerations in choosing a vendor to handle claims are reviewed.
