Easier legal citations: WordPerfect for Windows' QuickCorrect and Abbreviations features can ease your formatting blues
Article Abstract:
Typing citations can be tedious and it is difficult to remember all of the formatting rules governing the types of abbreviations, punctuation, and capitalization to use. WordPerfect for Windows offers two features that will help to correctly format legal citations. WordPerfect's QuickCorrect feature corrects spelling errors, but can also be used to insert words or phrases into documents. It can be useful for expanding initializations, such as changing 'wrt' into 'with respect to'. To achieve the correct capitalization, simply capitalize the appropriate letter in the abbreviation. 'Wrt', for example, becomes 'With respect to'. The feature can also be used to properly format common legal reporter citations. Version 8.0 offers the QuickWords feature, which combines the best aspects of QuickCorrect and Abbreviations.
