Extra-territorial jurisdiction in patent infringement issues

The author discusses extra-jurisdictional ramifications of patent infringement decisions by national courts in the EU, as seen in validity issues raised by the UK and the Netherlands in cases before the European Court of Justice. He then discusses the disadvantages of the EU patent system and proposes the creation of a unified patent for the EU.
