For the advancement of the profession
Article Abstract:
Numerous alumni and other insurance agents are supporting their profession through contributions to the American College. There are donors from all parts of the US such as Massachusetts Mutual Life making a Golden Key pledge. Donors often use the pledges as a forum to recognize important teachers, parents or just some who was special such as the North Dakota Room that was donated in honor of Dr Kenneth Black, Jr, an important insurance educator. The American College is also often mentioned as a beneficiary, receiving donations even beyond the lifetimes of the donators.

A portfolio match: the American College and its alumni
Article Abstract:
Alumni from the American College are well suited to helping the College gain funds through deferred giving to meet future educational needs, such as to counteract inflation or upgrade equipment. The College is stepping up its fundraising efforts and needs volunteers who are familiar with the solicitation of deferred gifts and alumni who are financially positioned for giving the College deferred gifts. Alumni need to remember the value they have received from the College in career support and should be aware of how the College needs the skills the alumni have gained.

Insuring the future of our profession
Article Abstract:
The American College is important to the future of life insurance and so it needs stable funding. Endowments from alumnus would help generate long-term security because, while annual gifts are used for immediate needs, only the interest from endowments is available. Jennifer Alby is responsible for helping people make deferred gift commitments and the College is actively soliciting long-term endowments.
