Formatting fixes in WPWin 6.1
Article Abstract:
Novell's WordPerfect for Windows 6.1 allows users a number of formatting options including modifying imported ASCII files and editing footnotes appearance. Users frequently wish to remove the hard returns that appear at the end of every line of ASCII text. The Convert File Format dialog box will appear when users attempt to open an ASCII file, so users should click the down arrow in the dialog box, and choose the ASCII (DOS) Text CR LF to SRt option, then click OK. User may find that footnotes look better when they appear in a font smaller than the primary text. To achieve this look, users can edit the Standard Template, and they begin by choosing the Insert, Footnote, Options command. In the resultant dialog box, users choose In Note, followed by Format, Font, also from the dialog box menu. Users should place the cursor at the end of the code in the Contents box, then choose small from the Relative size menu and back out by clicking on OK.

Numbering legal documents: part III: outline
Article Abstract:
Users may employ the WordPerfect Outline function in either WordPerfect 6.x for DOS or WordPerfect 6.x for Windows to number paragraphs in legal documents. In the DOS version, users begin by choosing Outline, then Outline Style, which provides a list of styles. Users then choose a style, and the program adds an Outline code to the top of the document. To include a paragraph number, users should select Outline and Insert Outline Level, after which they may insert any number between one and eight. In the Windows version of the program, users should choose Tools, then Outline. An Outline Feature Bar will display, and the program will add the initial Outline number to the document. To select the Legal outline style, users should browse the Outline pull-down list of styles, then choose 'Legal.' The Legal Outline style may be modified so that each paragraph is indented.

Mastering WpWin paragraph numbers: Tips for painlessly switching from WP 5.1 DOS to WPWin 6.1
Article Abstract:
A switch from WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS to WordPerfect 6.1 for Windows may require a lot of learning and frustration. Paragraph numbering is done differently in the most recent release, and pressing the Tab key at the inappropriate time can destroy a WPWin paragraph number scheme. Inserting a tab code before an auto number code under 5.1 will cause the number to change to match the Tab position. Under WPWin 6.1, there are three ways to insert a paragraph number, these are counters, outline, and paragraph numbers. Paragraph numbers, the most efficient of the three, are inserted from the Insert Bullets & Numbers dialog. Numbers can be entered automatically or manually, but it is impossible to tell auto and manual number codes apart using the Reveal Code command.
